When any of your lefty friends wax poetic about the wonders of
Canada’s single-payer national health care plan, just tell them to
watch “Dead Meat” (25-min running time). They’ll learn a lot, such as that it’s better to be a cat or a dog in
Canada if you’re sick, that only Canada, North Korea and Cuba make it
illegal for people to pay for private health care, and that man-hating California
Democratic
Assemblywoman Sheila Kuehl (she played Zelda Gilroy on TV’s “The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis“) wants
to do the same for California, and that, amazingly, competition
actually makes thing better in Canada, but only for pet owners, who CAN
pay for private care.
