You know where The News & Observer is coming from when its editorial writers cite the New York Times as a source for information as they anticipate President Bush’s convention speech tonight.

The N&O editors held up John Kerry’s Democratic convention speech last month as the gold standard that the president must measure up to, because Kerry “offer[ed] a broad plan for his presidency, should the voters give him that office in November.”

Broad plan? Sounds like a cover for the more accurate “vague platitudes.”
