Even with the week’s earlier development in the Jeremiah Wright-Barack Obama story, yet another columnist for a major North Carolina newspaper calls the controversial NCGOP ad racist, followed by another Jesse Helms history lesson:

With the backdrop of Wright in a black-and-gold African-style outfit, the N.C. Republican Party might as well have been saying, “Perdue and Moore endorsed the black guy with the crazy black pastor.”

I can’t help but find it odd that Scott Sexton fails to mention Obama’s very recent, still earth-shaking denunciation of Wright, especially when it took place right in his home city.

Update: For what it’s worth, Winston-Salem Mayor Allen Joines endorses Obama.
