Now that table games are legal at the western North Carolina casino operated by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, the operators need about 500 new employees. One of the job fairs is today.  So why doesn’t the state allow private casino firms into the whole state? The state of North Carolina endorses and operates the lottery, so why not allow  competition and job creation from the private sector? Do state bureaucrats really believe there is “good” gambling and “bad” gambling? I say give everyone the opportunity to decide if North Carolina is a good market for casinos.
