Richard Wagner has joined the list of JLF staffers engaged in the debate over issues related to illegal immigration. On Sunday, the Greensboro News & Record published his column about the March arrest of 27 mechanics and other workers at Piedmont Triad International Airport. All had fake documents. Wagner wrote that national security is at issue. “Authorities said none of the immigrants was a terrorist,” Wagner wrote. “Is that statement supposed to make us feel safer? The point is, it would have been simple enough for any terrorist to have slipped among the workers’ ranks and sabotaged or hijacked a passenger jet.”
