As I hinted this morning, a few of us at the John Locke Foundation and Carolina Journal did participatory research and journalism this afternoon. We intended to compare Impossible Whoppers and regular Whoppers from Burger King. Instead we learned that orders on Uber Eats are sometimes canceled without notice after taking your credit card, but before actually processing your payment. Our order was late before I could find on the website a notice that the order had been canceled either by Uber Eats or by our local Burger King. One of the lessons of innovation is that it doesn’t always work.
