Year-end statistics indicate that JLF posted a significant increase in broadcast media coverage in 2004. John Hood reports the growth of “CJ Radio” and “NC Spin” pushed radio appearances up by 18 percent. TV appearances jumped by 19 percent. Print-media coverage also was up, from 2,915 in 2003 to 3,096 in 2004, yet within those numbers, usage of Carolina Beat op-eds declined. The pace of speaking engagements grew to the second-highest level in nine years, and web site traffic hit 200,000 page views in the average month across all sites. That’s up from 168,000 in 2003.
