Representative Ray Rapp (D-Mars Hill) led a protest against the tax cuts proposed by Republican legislators. He says the Republicans should have looked before they leapt, and they are attacking the most vulnerable members of society.
For the other side of the story, the Smoky Mountain News interviewed Senator Jim Davis (R-Franklin). He said if the Democrats wanted the extra 1-cent sales tax increase to last, they shouldn’t have crafted the legislation to make it expire this year.
In the end, nothing was accomplished, but you had some entertaining brain mush making background noise while you folded the towels.
