Building schools as developments occur, easing overcrowding. Great idea! Even better is having the developer build the school, then lease it back to the system. An innovative move for school systems in North Carolina.
The Charlotte City Council began the dialogue last night. Now the county school board must be willing to think differently.
Let?s turn this into the ?Education Lottery.? Does anyone want to wager the Charlotte Mecklenburg School Board will complicate and find ways to discourage this move? Hope I am wrong!
My advice to the School Board – REMEMBER the FAILED 2005 school bonds, do not think the 2007 school bonds will pass if school construction issues stay the same.
