It looks like Mohammed Taheri-Azar will plead insanity when he goes on trial for plowing into nine people at UNC-Chapel Hill in 2006. In June, psychiatrists at Dorothea Dix Hospital determined he’s competent to stand trial. What alarms me is that some folks still don’t believe a person can be filled with hate for Americans and NOT be crazy. We should take Taheri-Azar at his word. Below is what he said on March 5 of this year.
During today’s hearing, Taheri-azar yelled “death to America” as he entered the Orange County courtroom. “I hate all Americans,” he said. “All Jews. May they all burn in hell. Death to Israel,” yelled Taheri-azar.
