Raleigh City Manager Russell Allen has asked the city council to adhere to his contract and put his firing in writing. He even provided draft copy.

So far, crickets from the council, which fired Allen several weeks ago but seems afraid to call his firing a firing.

Meantime, the News & Observer also reports on the petty politics over council parking and Allen’s handling of a complaint from Councilman Stagner. Hard to believe the council would fire the manager over this, but check out this communication from Stagner.

“Mr. Allen has handled this simple administrative issue poorly with his staff,” Stagner wrote Jan. 25. “In light of this and other recent staff-related issues, I would like to discuss his future with the City of Raleigh at your earliest convenience.”

The question is, what are the “other recent staff-related issues” the councilman references?
