When the Raleigh News & Observer reported on the Pope Center’s new report, which assesses women’s studies programs at UNC schools, the story contained the expected rebuttals from UNC administrators and students. And, it positioned the report and the response as part of “the continuing slugfest between the Pope Center and the people involved in university programs that traditionally attract liberal thinkers.” George Leef responded in a letter to the editor the next day, noting that the story didn’t address the key point of the report: intellectual weakness in the women’s studies programs, which are more about pushing an attitude than scholarship. You can read the report at the Pope Center web site.
