The Washington Post has an interesting piece today that reports on a study of people who access political sites online and how much the group overlaps with the previously identified ?Influentials? ? the 10 percent or so of the population who act as opinion leaders in their communities. These are the folks who write letters to the editor, participate in forums and radio shows, give money and volunteer in campaigns, post online or blog, serve in positions of leaderships in organizations such as civic clubs and educational institutions, and talk about politics among families, friends, and co-workers.
JLFers will remember that we used similar survey data in developing our organization?s marketing plan several years ago, including the projects that became Carolina Journal Online and this blog.
