That’s the rumor being knocked around over at McClatchy Watch.
I frankly cannot believe that could be true. No one could possibly be that out-of-touch. In any event, the Uptown paper has inexplicably been left hanging during this current round of coast-to-coast layoffs by McClatchy. If those laid-off are to be given two weeks notice, acting next week would technically carry them over to the next quarter, something this round of cuts was not supposed to do.
