The sales pitch for Obama’s plan is that it’s needed to reduce health care costs. In this post, economics professor Thomas DiLorenzo has the gall to point out that government invariably raises the cost of things it decides to take over.

What Obama is telling people is utterly contrary to the experience of mankind — that making some service universally available and free will lead to lower costs. It’s amazing that he persists in peddling that delusionary idea.
