Former Duke University professor Stanley Fish says that within a year after he leaves office, President Bush “will be a popular public figure, regarded with affection and a little nostalgia even by those who voted against him and thought he was the worst president in our history.”

I pick up a tongue-in-cheek tone in Fish’s essay, a sarcastic thankfulness that Bush won’t be able to do any more damage after he leaves office. But scroll the comments to get a feeling for the deep level of hate for Bush, presumably among people who considering themselves rational-thinking individuals. It’s disturbing.
