During the 2013-2014 school year, Buncombe County Schools were the scene of 11.36 “reportable acts of crime and violence per 1000 students.” Only two NC school systems were venues for higher rates. Back in the day, I think the crime rate at my high school was 0 every year I had anything to do with it. On second thought, the judges in whatever competition that was probably deemed our ragtag quartet’s rendition of “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” criminal.
