Yesterday I went shopping in the Cary Crossroads area of Wake County, expecting that a weekday afternoon visit to a shopping center during an economic downturn would be an easy trip.

Wrong.

Store parking lots – JAMMED.
Restaurant parking lots – JAMMED.
Fast food drive-thru lines – JAMMED.
Store checkout counters – JAMMED.

Based on what I saw, the downturn seems to have bypassed Cary. The retail numbers will, of course, give us an accurate assessment later.
