Ruth Sheehan has the details here.

When the Wake County school system learned about the Web site [that contained entries describing students in Wake County high schools as sluts, nuts, and worse] its communications office sent an immediate letter to the Web host, called Weebly, asking for the site to be taken down immediately.

Remarkably, Weebly agreed. Within days, the Web site had been removed.

You mean to tell me that parents and the school system identified (and stopped) bullying without the aid of state law?

The controversial School Violence Protection Act (S.L. 2009-212) included so-called protection for “any actual or perceived differentiating characteristic, such as race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, socioeconomic status, academic status, gender identity, physical appearance, sexual orientation, or mental, physical, developmental, or sensory disability…”

You mean to tell me that sluts and nuts are not on the list? They need protection too.
