The same alarmist telling us man-made global warming will do things like drown the Statue of Liberty once said a new ice age was coming, caused by our use of fossil fuels. Was this guy right then or is he right now? Or is he just a kook with a science degree?
The public deserves to know how he was converted from an apparent believer in a coming ice age who had no worries about greenhouse gas emissions to a global warming fear monger.
Exactly right. But you won’t see this in the AP or The New York Times, or even in The Washington Post, who wrote the original story in 1971 with this guy saying we’d all soon need parkas in June. They’re too busy trying to push the panic button than actually, you know, use the kind of journalistic skepticism that used to be de rigeur for major news outlets.
