Just wanted to give ?Locker Room? readers an update about how the John Locke Foundation and Carolina Journal are preparing to serve them during today?s primary elections.

First, you can read up on the major candidates and races by visiting our archive of stories called ?Covering the 2004 Elections.?

Second, tune in tonight to hear me along with my ?N.C. Spin? colleagues provide statewide elections returns and analysis via a statewide radio broadcast. Here is the most-recent list of affiliates for the coverage, which will begin at around 7 pm and be interspersed on many stations with local election returns:

Chapel Hill/Durham WCHL 1360 AM
Cherryville WGNC 1450 AM
Clinton WCLN 730 AM
Goldsboro WGBR 1150 AM
Graham WSML 1200 AM
Greenville WNCT 1070 AM
Hendersonville WHKP 1450 AM
Lexington WLXN 1440 AM
High Point WMFR 1260 AM
Lincolnton WLON 1050 AM
Morganton WMNC 92.1 FM
Murfreesboro WWDR 1080 AM
Murfreesboro WDLZ 98.3 FM
Newport WTKF 107.3 FM
Rockingham WAYN 900 AM
Rocky Mount WEED 1390 AM
Rocky Mount WRMT 1490 AM
Salisbury WSAT 1280 AM
Salisbury WSTP 1490 AM
Sanford WWGP 1050 AM
Smithfield WMPM 1270 AM
Weldon WYTT 97.9 FM
Weldon WPTM 102.3 FM
Weldon WCBT 1230 AM
Weldon WSMY 1400 AM
Wilkesboro WWWC 1240 AM
Wilmington WAAV 980 AM
Winston-Salem WSJS 600 AM

If you don?t live precisely in these cities, remember that some of these stations have a good carrying signal at night. In particular, if you?re anywhere in the greater Triad area check out WSJS and WSML (600 and 1200 AM) as well as the Lexington and High Point affiliates. In Hickory and the Catawba Valley, try the Morganton FM or the Lincolnton AM. WAAV on 980 AM covers much of Southeastern NC, while Greenville-New Bern-Kinston folks have lots of AM and FM choices and Northeastern NC residents have plenty of options out of Weldon and Murfreesboro. Asheville residents can try the Hendersonville signal (1450) and parts of Wake County can pick up the Smithfield station (1270). Unfortunately, Charlotte residents probably won?t be able to hear the radio broadcast.

There is, however, another good option: an Internet feed on the ?N.C. Spin? website. Just hook your computer up tonight and turn down the sound on your TV. Here’s how to pick it up:

1. Click on the NC SPIN web site www.ncspin.com

2. You will see a box on the home page that gives you full instructions.

Finally, our Carolina Journal staff will be pitching in to help with the ?N.C. Spin? broadcast while simultaneously preparing the ?Carolina Journal Online? site for Wednesday. It will profile results in the major races and include a column from me and a round-up of major statewide trends in the voting. I?ll also be blogging a bit for National Review during the evening on primary results in NC and Georgia.

Vote, shudder, and then have fun with us.
