Bureaucrats, federal, state and local, are out of control. Our freedoms often are more in jeopardy from the nameless drudge working in a government cubicle than from the most visible elected official. First on the list of freedom-sucking bureaucrats has got to be the Environmental Protection Agency. Here’s the latest outrage from the EPA:

[T]he EPA has decided that, since milk contains oil, it has the authority to force farmers to comply with new regulations to file “emergency management” plans to show how they will cope with spilled milk, how farmers will train “first responders” and build “containment facilities” if there is a flood of spilled milk.

Yes, milk spilled by dairymen is now considered by the EPA to be a disaster akin to the Exxon Valdez or the Gulf oil spill. You can’t make this stuff up.
