Alright, does Jim Black know anyone who hasn’t gotten paid by Scientific Games?

Turns out Black’s Lottery Commission appointee Kevin Geddings got $24,500 from Scientific earlier this year. Wait, don’t tell us — to “monitor legislation” right?

Citizens of North Carolina have to feel like Charles Sanders, the former Glaxo CEO who somehow got roped into chairing the lottery commission. Sanders all but called Geddings a liar:

“We took him on face value. I asked him if there was anything else. He assured me there was nothing else to be disclosed about his relationship with Scientific Games or the lottery business … If it’s as advertised, I feel like I’ve been misled.”

Yet this is business as usual for Black and his crony politics. The speaker needs to take a hint and follow Geddings out the door so Mecklenburg County and the rest of the state can sleep soundly at night.
