You really cannot make this stuff up. Talk about a team needing to rally around itself. Jake will be impossible to totally replace considering all the fire and emotion he brings to the mix — and that assumes the Panthers find someone to run the offense nearly as well. Which ain’t happenin’ either.
If somehow the Panthers can win in Zona and get to the bye week to re-group, the season might not be a total wash-out. Just very bad news. And for a guy who coulda been headed toward a career-best year.
