Here’s an event you don’t want to miss at Duke on Jan. 18. My first question to these two gentlemen: Why did President Obama dismiss the commission’s report?
Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles, co-chairs of President Obama’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, will discuss the work of the debt commission and current federal fiscal affairs. Senator Alan Simpson represented Wyoming from 1979-1997 and taught at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government from 1997-2000. Bowles was the president of the University of North Carolina system from 2005-2010 and as White House Chief of Staff from 1997-1998.
