The lead story on WTVD Television’s 6 p.m. newscast Thursday featured the John Locke Foundation’s estimate that Obamacare could be responsible for health insurance premium increases of 80 percent for some Blue Cross Blue Shield customers, before federal government subsidies are factored into the equation. JLF President John Hood discussed the findings with the television station.
North Carolina’s largest newspapers turned to Hood this week to share his expertise for a pair of articles related to the first year of Gov. Pat McCrory’s administration. The Charlotte Observer and News & Observer quoted Hood in an article about the conversion of hundreds of state government jobs into “at-will” positions. The Observer and N&O also interviewed Hood for an article about McCrory’s performance in office.
The Greensboro News & Record‘s “Mixing It Up” feature cited Hood’s recent column urging politicians not to subsidize professional sports. N.C. Senate Republicans promoted in their daily press emails Hood’s columns on 2014 election predictions and academic studies of government policies that influence economic growth.
