John Locke Foundation Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray took part in a presentation from an “All-Star Team of Tax Cutters” this week in Tennessee. The panel, which also featured Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform and representatives of the Tax Foundation and the American Legislative Exchange Council, focused on efforts to fight a Tennessee income tax. Closer to home, Gray analyzed N.C. state budget haggling during her latest appearance on Time Warner Cable News’ statewide “Capital Tonight” program. She continues her twice-weekly politics and public policy updates for WTSB Radio.

In addition to their regular conversation about the week’s top political news for Curtis Media Group’s syndicated “People In Politics” program, Carolina Journal Managing Editor Rick Henderson and JLF Director of Outreach Donna Martinez analyzed political developments on three consecutive days for WPTF Radio. Martinez also played on WPTF excerpts from a Carolina Journal Radio interview with J. Scott Moody of State Budget Solutions, who released a report on the high costs associated with Medicaid expansion in North Carolina. The Heritage Foundation’s “Insider Online” promoted Moody’s speech to the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society.

The Transylvania Times promoted JLF President and CEO Kory Swanson‘s recent speech to the local Republican group. Swanson also hit the road this week to address the Chatham County Republican Convention. Health and Human Services Policy Analyst Katherine Restrepo discussed certificate-of-need reform during a presentation to a Concord Rotary Club. She’ll discuss Medicaid expansion later today during the Civitas Conservative Leadership Conference.
