Mike Poore recently resigned as CEO of MedWest. Few details were provided in the media. Since then, Dr. Bob Adams has informed the Haywood County Commissioners that the hospital system, from which he recently resigned to make these points, is pursuing a track for bankruptcy. In addition to mismanaging resources and borrowing carelessly, the board of directors had not been forthright with financials. As a consequence, the hospital is, for example, in the position of delaying surgeries due to inadequate supplies. Funds are not available for necessary improvements.
