For those who haven’t already seen it, definitely watch the video of the press conference today with N.C. State Chairman Bob Jordan and UNC President Erskine Bowles regarding the chancellor’s resignation (video available here).
Jordan and Bowles emphasized the need for transparency and sunlight. Literally in the same breath, Jordan said that stories on the growing scandal were “nit picking” and that the N&O is just trying to sell newspapers.
In all likelihood, none of this would have come to light if news outlets such as Carolina Journal and the N&O hadn’t written about it. These reporters should be thanked, not criticized.
