The Winston-Salem Journal gets its man, as moderate Republican Dave Plyler was elected chairman of the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners.

Plyler said “he wants to keep the tax rate the same or possibly even lower it, and wants to try to reduce the county’s debt.” I have no idea how those goals are going to jibe with the Journal’s desire for a more “progressive” county commission.

That said, the real fun is in Guilford County, where citizens get to watch the Skip and Steve Show.

Meanwhile, the Journal’s Scott Sexton says a Plyler chairmanship would mean “a more business-friendly approach in using incentives as a means to lure companies and the jobs that come with them.”
