Dillsboro is fast becoming a ghost town, and so local leaders did what everybody has been doing since the sewers of the seeds of the recession went all-out. They sat around a table.* Meanwhile, oddballs like me who don’t know that unemployment would have been four times the US population were it not for all these incentives, cling to our notion of: If you want business, make something you can market.
*Actually, it isn’t quite so simple. They sit around a table and dream of wooing unproductive cronies with magic tax dollars, the influx of which into their pot-o-gold, unbeknownst to them, is highly correlated with the rate of existing businesses going under or demanding their own piece of the magic stash.
