Here we go again. Another tale of violence and dead children. Once again Mecklenburg County’s dubious “service providers” failed to render any sort of meaningful service.

Here’s what I want to know: Do men who come into the county’s mental health service orbit and announce “I want to kill my wife” routinely get turned loose with some pamphlets and a prescription? Homicidal urges, ahtlete’s foot — same treatment?

And don’t anyone damn dare say that more money would’ve treated Kenny Chapman differently. There is plenty of money in the system to deal with high priority, flashing red-lights like a man with guns in his home declaring he wants to kill his family. I would love to know, in fact, what Carolinas Medical Center billed for its interaction with Chapman.
