What happens if you take interest in a political dispute but you just can’t bring yourself to side with either party to it?

I find I’m that away about this story, which involves the debate about extending state or local incentives to footloose corporations. Obviously I’m suspicious of the economic and legal reasoning behind the policy, but in expressing this view I’ve lined up on the same side as the odious teacher unions.

I guess given a choice between standing in mud and standing in slime, I’ll go with the former, squishy-but-not-so-squalid alternative.
