• Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton agreed with Pat McCrory, announcing Monday he opposed Gov. Bev Perdue on her fracking veto hours before the General Assembly was able to overrride it.

• Burn: The editorial board of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch tweaks the Democratic National Committee for choosing Charlotte (and North Carolina) over St. Louis (and Missouri) for its nominating convention.

• The Obama campaign is importing volunteers from surrounding states to round up support in North Carolina.

• Embattled U.S. Rep. Larry Kissell, D-8th, says he’ll join a Republican-led vote next week to repeal ObamaCare.

• U.S. Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-10th, made a joint appearance in Morganton with 11th District candidate Mark Meadows, whom McHenry endorsed.

• Former Arkansas Gov. and GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee endorsed Scott Hudson in the Republican runoff for the 8th Congressional District.
