• Pat McCrory, the GOP nominee for governor, wins the endorsement of the N.C. Troopers Association. Lt. Gov Walter Dalton earlier was endorsed by the Police Benevolent Association.

• Delegates to last weekend’s North Carolina Democratic Party’s state convention adopted 77 resolutions, some of them a bit odd.

• In a press release, the Republican Governors Association uses the latest jobs report to slam Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton for defending the Perdue administration’s economic policies.

• The N.C. FreeEnterprise Foundation issues a new report with their predictions for the most competitive races for the state House and state Senate this fall.
