• A group funded by the Democratic Governors Association runs this attack ad against GOP gubernatorial nominee Pat McCrory. The McCrory campaign claims it’s inaccurate and demands TV stations and cable operators pull it.

• Asheville Citizen-Times reporter Jon Ostendorff says Republicans should not consider Rep. Patrick McHenry’s re-election in the 10th Congressional District a done deal.

• Protesters who led violent demonstrations at the NATO summit in Chicago say some will make an appearance at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.

• A poll commissioned by the Triangle’s Regional Transportation Alliance finds nearly 60 percent of Orange County voters would back a tax to fund light rail and other public transit; a bare majority of Wake County voters, however, favor the proposal.
