• North Carolina-based Tea Party groups plan to roll out the welcome mat for delegates attending the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.
• North Carolina Democrats G.K. Butterfield (1st District) and Mel Watt (12th District) are mentioned in a Washington Examiner story as sponsors of “Miscellaneous Tariff Bills” — measures that exclude specific items such as eyelash curlers from tariff duties.
• Mitt Romney’s campaign launches a second “Day One” ad describing what he would do if inaugurated. (He expects to be a busy man.)
