Congressional debates. WECT-TV  in Wilmington hosted the first of two debates between Rep. Mike McIntyre, D-7th Districts, and his Republican challenger David Rouzer. The video is on the station’s website, and the second debate is scheduled for broadcast Saturday on WRAL-TV in Raleigh.

Not easy being green. Calling the 2012 short session “one of the worst for the environment in history,” the N.C. League of Conservation Voters issued its legislative scorecard (PDF download). Nearly half the Republicans in the General Assembly scored 0 in the tally.

Negative coattails. An Associated Press photo slideshow pegs Rep. Larry Kissell, D-8th District, as one of 10 congressional incumbents who could “lose his job” because of constituents’ opposition to President Obama.

Save your money. The National Republican Congressional Committee says it has no plans to spend on advertising backing 11th Congressional District Republican Mark Meadows against Democrat Hayden Rogers because the group’s chairman. Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Texas, says “Mark is going to win.”

A third voice. Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Barbara Howe, who’s getting high single-digit support in the polls, joined David Crabtree for an interview on WRAL-TV.
