• Still up for grabs. First Lady Michelle Obama will make another campaign visit to North Carolina early next week.
• Not the only debate in town. You can find a link to a video of the recent debate between candidates for U.S. House District 10, Republican incumbent Patrick McHenry and Democrat Patsy Keever, here.
• More debating. The candidates for House District 77, Rep. Harry Warren, R-Rowan, and Democratic challenger Bill Batterman, earlier this week participated in a candidate forum at Catawba College.
• Better things to do. When the Democratic National Convention canceled President Obama’s Sept. 6 acceptance speech at Bank of America Stadium, ticket holders were promised that they would get a chance to meet with the nominee sometime before the election. Looks like that’s not going to happen.
• Ditto. 11th Congressional District Democratic candidate Hayden Rogers, who has refused to endorse President Obama, attacks his Republican rival Mark Meadows for skipping a candidate forum so he could attend an event with Mitt Romney in Asheville.
• Gummint workers chip in. Democrat Linda Coleman, who’s running for lieutenant governor, gets support from the State Employees Association of North Carolina in an ad opposing Republican Dan Forest.
