McComas is taking over as chairman of the State Ports Authority. Davis is running for the seat against Democrat Emile Swearingen Nov. 6.

The parade continues. The benefit of being a swing state: Top-flight surrogates keep visiting. “Rising star” U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., will campaign Wednesday for the Romney-Ryan ticket in Charlotte.
