To ease your worried mind, the Watauga Democrat informs us that Appalachian State University is creating an “up-and-coming fermentation science program.” The B.S. (No, really.) degree only lacks approval from the University of North Carolina system. This should not be difficult as the state created a new law last year to legalize tasting rooms and on-site sales in breweries, just to entice Sierra Nevada and New Belgium to Asheville.
