A group assembled presumably in Hendersonville somewhere to end gun violence. The group is not off-base. They argue for better gun safety education. But they also seek “laws to address trafficking and illegal purchases of guns.” Say what? They put faces on the problem by inviting survivors of victims of gun crime to speak. The sadness is supposed to silence the jaded from criticizing the program, just as the stricter laws they advocate are supposed to prevent the most hardened of law-breakers from stealing to murder. My simplistic alternative is to have moral communities that value life enough to keep threats off the streets.
