Apparently the McClatchy offer of buyouts to 200 News & Observer employees was not sufficiently enticing, if a tipster’s information is accurate. He says The N&O will announce 25 layoffs to employees in a meeting tomorrow.
If true, I feel for the employees affected. I’ve been on both ends of layoffs, being the one choosing whom to layoff and one who was laid off myself. It’s not pleasant at either end.
