The Easley hearings today were a serious and somber affair overall, but a brief moment of levity came during McQueen Campbell’s testimony, courtesy of board chairman Larry Leake.
Campbell testified that Easley asked him twice for help with repairs to his Raleigh house. The second time was because of damage caused by a leak somewhere.
“That’s not necessarily a bad thing,” Leake quipped, generating scattered chuckles.
