Similar to the commenter to my post below, the one who charged racism when I “accused” Michelle Obama of applying for grants, the left-wing so-called media watchdog site Media Matters yells “smear” when conservatives quote the actual words of lefty crazies:

We should point out that Media Matters has begun a pattern of screaming “Smear!” when people point out what others have actually said. Van Jones signed the 9/11 Truth petition, a voluntary act; we just pointed it out. Similarly, Media Matters yesterday accused Fox of “smearing” Tresa Kaelke in accusing her of committing murder by … airing the tape where she claims to have committed murder. Media Matters must have looked up “smear” in Orwell’s Dictionary, 1984 edition.

I smell desperation on the left.

UPDATE: Sturner, the commenter who sees racism in everyone with whom he disagrees, may want to read this:

[It’s] an easy charge to make against the rare individual carrying an “Obamacare” sign depicting the president as an African witch doctor with a bone through his nose. But it’s almost impossible to prove — or refute — assertions that bias, and not raw politics, fuels opposition to Obama.

“You have to be very careful about going down that road. You’ve cried wolf,” said Sean Wilentz, a Princeton University professor who studies U.S. political and social history.
