It was just the primary yesterday, but go ahead and pencil it in–Greensboro will have another leftist City Council. The lone conservative member of the council –District 5 Representative Tony Wilkins—ran second to challenger Tammi Thurm, while at-large council member Mike Barber finished third out of the top six vote-getters, but just ahead of hard-left newcomer Michelle Kennedy.

All other district incumbents won by large margins, as well as Mayor Nancy Vaughan, who advances with 61 percent of the vote. Vaughan will face challenger Dianne Moffett in the Nov. 7 general election.

Tough walking into the polling site yesterday without one single candidate to strongly support.
