Last week, several former Greensboro police officers were notified that the EEOC had found evidence of discrimination, giving them the right to sue the city.
Now this:
The U.S. Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit alleging a current and former employee were sexually discriminated against at N.C. A&T.
The complaint, filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court, alleges that N.C. A&T discriminated against Tasha Murray and Mattie Smith while they were employees of the campus’ Department of Police and Public Safety.
The complaint, according to the Department of Justice, says the two women were subjected to sexual harassment that created a hostile work environment and that the university failed to take appropriate action to remedy the discrimination.
That last sentence is interesting, because, in my view, because it presents an option for the City of Greensboro in any potential lawsuits that I haven’t seen discussed yet. Could the city roll the dice, let the suits go to court and claim it had taken action to remedy discrimmination by getting rid of former Police Chief David Wray? (Yes, I realize Wray technically resigned.)
