State lawmakers are recovering today from the end of their “crossover” week, when many pieces of legislation needed to clear either the House or Senate to remain alive through 2014. Carolina Journal Associate Editor Barry Smith will discuss highlights from the week’s legislative action during an appearance with Bill LuMaye this afternoon on Talk Radio WPTF.

The Mooresville Tribune published John Locke Foundation Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray‘s CJ column on legislators’ efforts to address policies that promote economic growth. The Elkin Jonesville Tribune and NCPoliticalNews.com highlighted CJ Associate Editor Michael Lowrey‘s column on Gov. Pat McCrory’s transportation plan.

N.C. Senate Republicans promoted in their daily press emails Associate Editor Dan Way‘s articles on the McCrory administration’s efforts to tout its Medicaid plan and a bill to study reform of North Carolina’s certificate-of-need law. The Senate GOP also noted contributor Sara Burrows‘ report on legislation that would limit cities’ ability to regulate home design and aesthetics and Smith’s article on election-related bills moving through the N.C. House.
