In Cherokee County, cops are going to be doing the Barbie Doll thing. They’ll be shopping with school children. Of course the stated objective is to build friendships and trust with at-risk children so they won’t be afraid to rat on their neighbors. Personally, I’d rather have the cops in the parking lot watching my car. Four break-ins in one year is a little much for the poor little thing.

Acknowledging law enforcement is spread thin, the Haywood County Sheriff’s Department has released tips to help folks protect themselves from what in my small world is a growing pastime. #2 is really goofy, but the others should be helpful if you aren’t used to defensive shopping.
