The folks at Public Schools First NC hate private school vouchers but apparently love public school choice.  Recently, members of the organization distributed a flyer (posted below) to members of the NC General Assembly.  Note the paragraph that begins, “Public Schools First NC agrees that it is critical to expand choice for all children within the public school setting, especially those children who are struggling academically.”

Charter schools are a form of public school choice, so I suppose that they would agree that it is critical to expand charter schools for all children.

Additionally, student assignment plans that maximize parental choice, such as the one implemented and then discarded in Wake County, would appear to be a-okay with the Public Schools First crowd.  Ironically, organizations that strongly opposed Wake County’s parental choice plan, including the NC Justice Center and Great Schools in Wake, are members of Public Schools First NC.
